Morris® The Cat
Scroll through below and learn everything there is to know (and then some) about the world’s most famous cat.
No Autographs Please
I haven't always lived in the spotlight, you know.
Truth is I gave thought to a few different career
paths and hobbies before I settled on "uber-famous-spokescat."
And let me tell you - once you get used to the paparazzi,
it's not a bad life.
In The Kitchen
As you probably know, I'm a bit of a "cat-foodie."
So of course the idea of becoming a world-famous
chef seemed right up my alley. Right up until I
figured that knives sort of freak me out. Sharp
objects and cats just don't mix. So I'll leave
the preparation to 9Lives®, and the eating to me.
It's what I was born to do. OK, that, and being on camera.
Paging Doctor Morris
I gave med school a shot, but let's be honest -
a cat in a doctor's office? Good luck concentrating when you've got all those shiny objects to distract you…better to leave that stuff to the experts, and concentrate on what I do best – being a celebrity.
Pumping Iron? Please.
Cats can't exactly hit the gym or do power yoga, so we need your help to live a healthy lifestyle. And let's face it - spandex and headbands?
Not exactly our style.
Celebrity Biography
The year was 1968, bell-bottoms were in, Rock ´n' Roll topped the charts and an orange tabby from a Hinsdale, Illinois, shelter was about to be put down…but fate intervened that day and smiled on a cat named Morris®.
It all started when talent scout Bob Mardwick wandered into the Humane Society looking to rescue his next big star. "Hard to believe this $5 stray from an Illinois humane society pound is a national hero,” said Mardwick.
But that's exactly what happened. From Hollywood to the White House, Morris® the Cat quickly became the most fabulous and famous feline in the world.
As the 9Lives® TV spokes-cat he secured the brand in the hearts and minds of cat lovers everywhere, and transcended advertising to become a fixture in pop culture.
Today Morris® the Cat is back and as finicky as ever – only now he's finicky about nutrition.
